# VHS.bar

> A free 3D living-room VCR in the browser. Click the CRT, the deck, and the shelf tapes. Video plays on the tube.

VHS.bar (https://vhs.bar) is a nostalgia project, not a commercial streaming service. One URL, one room: wood stand, 1980s CRT, VHS player, and a row of labeled tapes. There is no separate HTML shelf or transport overlay — interaction is the 3D set.

## How to use

1. Power the TV with the small circular bezel button on the view-right of the set (next to the DOMYXER mark). Snow and recorded static audio play while idle.
2. Power the VCR on the faceplate (leftmost control). The LCD lights when the deck is on.
3. Click a shelf tape. The deck must be on. The cassette inserts and plays on the CRT. The camera eases in.
4. Deck buttons, left to right: power, eject, rewind, play, fast-forward, stop.
5. Shift+Z or the ZOOM control toggles a closer TV framing. On a phone, turn sideways for the best view.

TV power and VCR power are independent. Turning the TV off darkens the CRT; the tape stays in the deck.
